no more jaggerbomb for me??

Posted in out of the ordinary at 4:13 pm by daveena

DSCF0508edit

how many of you love jagerbomb as much as me? if you’ve answered yes, then please take a moment to scroll down.

someone e-mailed me this article on red bull and so i think i should share it here cos i know so many people who just can’t have enough of that superawesome drink (and now i know why!)

am not sure where this article originates from (and not sure of its 100% validity either!), but am just gonna copy and paste every single word from the e-mail here ok.

” RED BULL was created to stimulate the brains in people who are subjected to great physical force and in stress coma and never to be consumed like an innocent drink or soda pop.

RED BULL  IS the energizer DRINK that is commercialized world-wide with its slogan:’It increases endurance; awakens the concentration capacity and the speed of reaction, offers more energy and improves the mood. All this can be found in a can of RED BULL , the power drink of the millennium.

FRANCE and DENMARK have just prohibited it as a cocktail of death, due to its vitamin components mixed with GLUCURONOLACTONE’, a highly dangerous chemical, which was developed by the United States Department of Defense during the sixties to stimulate the moral of the troops based in VIETNAM, which acted like a hallucinogenic drug that calmed the stress of the war.

But their effects in the organism were so devastating, that it was discontinued, because of the high index of cases of migraines, cerebral tumors and diseases of the liver that was evident in the soldiers who consumed it.

And in spite of it, in the can of RED BULL  you can still find as one of its components: GLUCURONOLACTONE, categorized medically as a stimulant. But what it does not say on the can of ,RED BULL  are the consequences of its consumption, and that has forced us to place a series of WARNINGS:

1. It is dangerous to take it if you do not engage in physical exercise afterwards, since its energizing function accelerates the heart rate and can cause a sudden attack.

2. You run the risk of undergoing a cerebral hemorrhage, because RED BULL contains components that dilute the blood so that the heart utilizes less energy to pump the blood, and thus be able to deliver physical force with less effort being exerted.

3. It is prohibited to mix RED BULL with alcohol, because the mixture turns the drink into a ” Deadly Bomb ” that attacks the liver directly, causing the affected area never to regenerate anymore.

4. One of the main components of RED BULL  is the B12 vitamin, used in medicine to recover patients who are in a coma; from here the hypertension and the state of excitement which is experienced after taking it, as if you were in a drunken state.

5. The regular consumption of RED BULL triggers off symptoms in the form of a series of irreversible nervous and neuronal diseases.

CONCLUSION: It is a drink that should be prohibited in the entire world as when it is mixed with alcohol it creates a TIME BOMB for the human body, mainly between innocent adolescents and adults with little experience. “

so now you know why is it called jagerBOMB? sigh. so long now jagerbomb. good thing also i (still) can’t seem to find you in kch so far.

desperate time calls for desperate measures

Posted in out of the ordinary at 2:27 pm by daveena

if you don’t already know, i’m going to start work in singapore next month. i can’t wait to start work (yes i’m weird like that, but that’s only cos i’ve been on a superlong break ok, 5 months to be precise!) but i’m not really looking forward to go there so soon yet. main reason being i haven’t found a place to stay.

so whoever reading this (takla ramai sangat i know, am just trying my luck here ish), if you have any room for rent or knows anyone who has a room for rent or knows someone else with room to rent or yougetthepictureright?, kindly let me know yar.

my budget is within $500-600 (or ok fine, anything less den $800 still acceptable la). location-wise at first i wanted somewhere NEAR my office so that i can just walk to and from work but i doubt i’ll find any within my budget, so anywhere with easy access to public transportation (esp the north east/purple mrt line!!) will be great. (see i’m not that choosy ok!)

thank you. jasamu akan ku kenang forever. hehe.

i want this hair permanently la. (this hair was the hasil from i went blow drying at saloon by the way, so obviously it was temporary, hence the term permanently.) but, how do i tell the saloon? “i want it straight but not too straight, but i don’t want perm but it still has curls down there?” O.o

i’m kinda sick of taking care of curls, but i don’t really fancy stick straight hair either. i wanna try short hair but i’m afraid my hair will end up like lion king cos my hair is naturally wavy. i wanna keep it long but erm obviously the $%£*!^ saloon i went the other day CUT it wayyyyy too short. i said trim and keep the length la ngong. heh.

so, what do you think? (a) the same ol curls; (b) rebonding; or (c) try shorttt for once? hmmm.

i wanna get a new mobile phone. cos my present one is already 3 years plus and it has start showing symptom2 retiring already. mums and dads also gave me the green light when they saw i had difficulty charging it the other time. so now my only problem is which one?

(1) blackberry bold 9000

300_blackberry_bold2

i fell in love with blackberry ever since my mum got hers! i like the fact that i can check facebook and msn on the go and the qwerty keyboard. i just don’t like its size, too fat for me. and also its 2mp cam. so expensive but camera so lousy meh? don’t want la. okla maybe i don’t really take photos using my phone, but still, at least more that 2mp can or not??

(2) blackberry pearl 8110

pink_blackberry_8100

when i saw this phone i went crazy!! a thinner blackberry and in pink!! but then again, it still lack in the camera department. sigh. but so pwettyyyy! but still too expensive for me also. :(

(3) sony ericsson c905

sony-ericsson_c-905

8.1mp camera phone! of cos i terpikat right?? but too expensive la. somemore, the colour not so appealing. heh.

(4) sony ericsson w595

W595Pink

98% might get this one lo. it has all the specs that i want (except wifi, sigh) and it’s within my budget. plus, it’s pink! ;)

(5) lg ks360

lg-ks360-3

i like this phone cos it looks so cool! esp the qwerty keyboard and side flip. and the other day they had a really good promotion on this phone and i was so tempted to get it already. butbutbut it’s LG, i don’t really have the confidence in this brand no offence. i used LG once (forgot which model!) and let’s just say, i only used it for texting and call. somehow i feel LG phones don’t really have much functions?

(6) samsung g600

g600-pink-2

i was once in love with this phone too. pink, slim, 5mp camera, music player, slide phone, reasonable price. but again, i have used samsung before, and i have to admit, they’re not really that friendly. for eg. bluetooth can be pretty difficult.

(7) samsung jet

samsung-jet

all the specs i want but like the c905, it’s wayyyy over my budget. plus, it’s touch screen. my fingers very the not sensitive one. don’t know why everytime i play touch screen gadgets, they just don’t work, so fine, touch screens are not my thang.

see. am spoilt for choice. how to choose like this?? if you realize there isn’t any nokia in the list cos don’t know la, i just never really like nokia. and why no iphone either right? well, i don’t really get what’s the fuss about iphone. what’s so great about it ah? the camera also 2mp only. wanna listen to music get ipod la. so much cheaper also.

so, will you help me choose please? but like i said, the most suitable option for me i think is still the w595 lo. but if you know something about this phone that suck, please lemme know. thanks! :)

when fingers can do wonders to your curls

Posted in out of the ordinary at 9:36 pm by daveena

i’ve had permed hair for almost three years now. and since the very first perm i did, i’ve been obediently using this :

the3style@16

it was pretty expensive. for almost rm40++ per bottle! and my hair need lots and lots of em, so sometimes in a month i need one whole bottle. so, sigh. then i discovered this one shop in sg wang that sells the exact same thing for almost half the price. (they serve the same function, just different packaging! -_-)

the first time i came to uk, i brought two bottles with me cos my luggage was full already so i couldn’t bring as much as i want. so sigh after the second bottle finished, i was devastated cos i didn’t know what other product that can serve as good as that. then i tried all these products from boots (cos boots didn’t sell my schwarzkopf and i did discover this one shop that sells it but SUPERexpensive. sobs.) :

10071913

a223f2f8121544091420916

i don’t really like most of them. some give me dandruffs. some just make my hair so ewww. then, ebay saved my life! i found really good bargain on my schwarzkopf! even though not as cheap as malaysia, at least it’s still affordable for me. so now am back with it and am on the last bottle before i go back malaysia so i’m like really kedekut with it cos i need it to last me til august. huhu.

so this morning i just wanted to print something in the library and it so happen that today is my hair washing day. i thought, since am not going to stay long and i won’t be meeting anyone (but cis i keep on bumping with soooo many people today cos so cun that today is business school’s convo day. haih.), instead of putting my schwarzkopf on my hair, i opted to apply some antifrizz serum and just twist my curls in sections with my fingers and let it dry naturally. and the result …

214706

++ i didn’t notice how pretty my curls were until almost bedtime so that explains the ugly PJs and cut-off face ok. :P ++

i lovelovelove my curls today. it’s sooooo natural somemore. hehe. now i believe that less is definitely more. (meaning, less hair product = more beautiful curls. hehe.)

now i just hope my curls will be even more pretty on monday for convo. weee!

fashion faux

you know what i paling paling PALING tak suke?

COPYCATS!

fashion copycats to be exact. eh got such thing ke? you get what i mean la rite? people yang like to copy your style. i’m not exactly the world’s stylish person. but i don’t think am such a horrible dresser either la. (or am i ka?) am no fashion expert but i believe every single individual have their own signature style. so why wanna copy other people?? i’m not saying we can’t dress like other people la cos basically everyone copies each other anyways. what am trying to point out here is copying 101%! and the worst part is when that person ACTUALLY questioned the particular style beforehand. get what i mean?

so to these kinda people, please la, if you love my style please do admit BUT please don’t copy exactly la. other people might be flattered but not me ok. i like to be special harhar so i honestly don’t like people having the exact same stuff with me. bleh. so be creative and add in your own individual trait into the style you’re trying to copy la. you’ll gain more respect from me ok. (chewah i sound so cocky it’s sooo not me! LOL.)

reasons why i’m (still!) not skinny

Posted in food, out of the ordinary at 8:51 pm by daveena

my attempts to eat healthy and lose weight always seem to fail. sigh. why tell me why.

(1) the wholegrain bread

la102294_1006_opener_l

i love eating bread. if there are no other food in the world, i can live on bread alone. really. i have tried before eating just bread for breakfast, lunch and dinner for three days straight. and i didn’t even get sick from eating em after that! i know white bread are pretty evil, so i switched to wholemeal and have loved it ever since. when i found out wholegrain offer even more goodness than wholemeal, i decided to give it a try. the outcome? YUCKS. i can’t even finish the whole packet. don’tlikedon’tlikedon’tlike la conclusion is. i’ll just stick to wholemeal for now.

(2) the lemon detox diet

lemon_detox_ingredients

beyonce did this and lose 20pounds. my dear sis also did it and even though she didn’t lose as much as beyonce did, she did lose some weight too. so i’m officially jealous and wanted to try it as well. i promised myself (and my sis!) i would start it the week after exams which was THREE weeks ago actually but i kept on postponing with all sorts of  reasons such as : “i’m working this week, i can’t be starving!”, “this week got makan2, so i cannot do it this week!” and “i’m going travelling this week, so i tak larat wanna do this diet!”

(3) the fruits and vegie

fruits-and-vegies

i wanna start adding more fruits and vegie to my meals cos i realize i always eat unhealthy nonsense. but everytime i go to the market, i can’t seem to find any nice fruits and vegie that i wanna eat. there were always the same ones : apples, oranges, strawberries and grapes for fruits and brocolli, cauliflower, lettuce and chinese leaf for vegie. of course there are still others la but these are the main ones that i always buy and am already sick of em. i miss watermelon!! and i want vegie like midin and kangkung. :( two more months davina, just hang in there!

(4) the workout sessions

pilates_logo_long

i wanna do my squats, crunches and pilates exercise i seriously do. but i’m just too lazy to get my bum off the bed once am already enjoying my tv3 dramas so sigh. am so hopeless already right. heh.

sigh. how ah. can somebody help gimme some motivation please??

the (ultimate) guide to remain calm for exams

Posted in my life as a student, out of the ordinary at 8:24 am by daveena

1. make it a point to CONCENTRATE wholly for at least the first hour. at least you know you have studied something, so you won’t feel so guilty when you’re stuck on facebook at the second hour. huhu.

2. make LIL notes of your own. don’t you find the lecturers’ slides and notes are just too stressful?? at least in your own notes you can make them as happy and fun as possible with all the colours. then, you’ll surely be more interested to read em!

3. if suddenly during exams also, all your part-time jobs suddenly have so many extra shifts for you, don’t panic. read your notes BEFORE you go to work and again AFTER you finish work. and if you really, really can’t get someone else to cover your shifts, take that as a sign from The One above who knows how much you need money desperately, so, i guess, just go to work?

4. HIDE your lappy completely. (or okla, just DON’T SWITCH it ON.) you will be less likely to be stuck on facebook all day and the next thing you realized, you’ve just wasted another day not studying. and this leads to stress. and stress is a big NO NO!

5. IF you can’t control the urge to on your lappy also, then, just don’t on msn/ym or any other chat windows. or, you can just appear offline. (but this don’t really work for me, cos i can see who’s online, and sometimes i’m just tempted to click on their names!hehe.) and TRY to limit yourself to the most, 30 mins or so. then, go BACK to your notes.

6. when friends ask questions regarding the exam topics, try to answer them CONFIDENTLY. boy was i proud when i did this! hehe. even though i’m not TOO sure of the topic myself, at least when i answered something useful (and in a confident manner), it shows that i definitely did understand whatever i studied and all those hours of reading were of no waste at all. which means, i’m already prepared to sit for the exams already. now all i need is my lecturers giving me marks for all my so-called confident answers. haha.

7. people EAT to release stress. DON’T! after exams, you’ll get another stress – fatness! just continue reading your notes. don’t waste your time nibbling on chocs and keropoks. don’t you find it a waste of time nibbling…cos you can’t concentrate on your notes cos you’re busy trying to bite the food. or, get yourself a cup of hot drink. at least sipping don’t take as much time as eating.

8. no matter how confident you are that the particular topic might not come out, unless the lecturer really said it WON’T come out, just read it as well. no need to memorize, sufficient enough to know what is it talking about (based from past experience *spm sejarah 2003*, don’t trust your teachers wholeheartedly cos sometimes what you chose to ignore might just come out! but then again, spm questions are not prepared by our teachers hor but uni questions ARE prepared by our lecturers who are also gonna be the ones marking, so it wasn’t exactly her fault, but anyway, it’s better to be safe than sorry right.hehe.)

9. when you feel like you’ve been online for far too long now, quickly click PUBLISH, switch off your lappy, and go back to your notes. haha.

i hope this works for you. try to make exams as positive as you can, so you’ll definitely be calm enough and stop stressing. i know most people have already finished theirs, but for those who are still having exams, or will be having exams soon, ALL THE BEST PEOPLE. :)

this is IT, and in no time, i’ll be DONE, for GOOD! can’t wait! ;)

my mum taught me not to talk to strangers

Posted in out of the ordinary, people at 4:18 pm by daveena

i don’t know if am just plain naive or just being friendly, but sometimes i think it’s not wrong to talk to strangers.

i think the only reason we are told over and over again that we are not supposed to talk to random strangers is cos there are so many cases where people ask for the time and end up robbing you instead.

sometimes (eh boringnye this word, what’s another meaning of sometimes ah??) good things do happen when you layan these strangers. for example, you may end up with a new friend. or, in my case last night, i got free food! :) just by telling the stranger the date. (the reason for that being he got lots of free food from the supermarket cos they’re all gonna go to the bin cos expired already, but actually the expiry date was only yesterday, which means the food can still be eaten cos 1 day don’t really make a difference for us right esp. if we get it free?? haha. anyway, he offered some of the food la cos obviously he can’t finish all of em also so since i was kind enough to tell the date, then i guess he was trying to be kind also la by offering to me. erm i wonder if my explanation make sense or not ah? my english getting teruk each day whyyyy am in englishland leh??)

the conclusion here is actually they are still a lot of nice people in the world la. we just need to be extra careful i guess. but not everyone who ask for the time is a serial killer ok.

i’m just writing about this as topic of the day ok. i’m not saying you should go up to random strangers after this and be friends with them. sometimes you gotta trust your instinct also la, if you feel that something is not right, then just ignore the stranger la. but if you don’t feel anything strange about them, then, by owe means, do whatever you like. strike a conversation or something. it’s your choice.
