so for the past three weeks or so, i’ve been busy layaning the two super VIP in my life; these two :

bath (it’s such a preety place also. but due to the shitty weather, it was quite difficult to explore around the city. -_-)

also, due to all those vacationing buzy-ness (eh got such word ka? haha.), i kinda forgotten a good friend’s birthday. (yes i know i deserve a slap in the face cos who forgets their good friends’ birthdays right. sigh.)
so, HEALSCA, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY yar? (don’t worry, i hafal your birthdate already. hehe.)

i was supposed to go out yesterday just to refund my dad’s shirt, but i ended up buying three dresses, a top and a pair of shorts. all for myself somemore. if i buy as gifts for people still ok right, but i just couldn’t resist em. and the best part was, they’re all on bargain. 5IVE items for just £44 ok. even after you convert, it only amounts to rm264. ok after convert it does sounds a lot, but nooo, in malaysia if you wanna buy good quality dresses, it would cost you more than that right?? ok ok, promise no more shopping for my own stuff after this.
and i got this two superawesome stuff when shopping with mummy and daddy dearest. a pink skirt worth £5 and a cute lil dress for £7 only! weeee summer sale rawks!
btw, you like my pink bedsheet or not? i like! hehe.

so we went to watch this movie at the cinema sempena jeffrey’s birthday so if you’re wondering what does football jersey have to do with transformers, i don’t know either. we were just fulfilling the birthday boy’s wishes : to have his birthday theme as football and to accompany him to watch transformers.

people often say “actions speak louder than words”, but for this case, it’s “pictures speak louder than words”. but not cos of my excellent photography skill la cos i admit i haven’t got any (i still don’t know how to use my cam up til today!); i’m just too lazy to write the whole history of prague cos you just can google it right. so anyways, here are the pics from my very first independent trip (wee am so proud of myself!) :

i really wanna be more patient and stop whining. but everytime i thought i’m almost there, something ALWAYS pops up. gerams! this post is not gonna be in the usual english. or bm. it’s gonna be in my bidayuh language cos it’s actually meant to be private but i really need to luah everything out or else i might explode. sigh. so if you understand, that’s great. if not, then too bad.

owh owh, on the bright side, i’m going to manchester and prague tomorrow til saturday. finally i’m going to my dream destination. yayness!

owh guiness!
you know what’s the coolest thing about dublin?
++ oo yea, it’s home for guiness alright! ++
i don’t like beer. if you’ve been paying attention to previous blogs, you would already have known this by now. the only reason i drank em was cos they’re really cheap, despite the fact that they’re superpahit. i’ve never tried guiness before so since most beers are pahit, and guiness is black, i’ve always assumed it to be the most pahit of all. unfortunately, i was wrong. after taking the first sip, i immediately fell in love. haha no la, i still won’t order it if there are other drinks available. 
so what exactly is in store at the seven-floor storehouse? well, there’s a gift shop (obviously), a whole floor of materials and machineries used/slides/pictures/yadayada showing the process of brewing guiness, another floor exhibiting all different types of bottles and glasses used for serving guiness and a sampling section where you can try a half pint of fresh guiness.
but my favourites are floor 5 and 7.

++ … and get a certificate for it! ++
after pulling the perfect pint, you go up to floor 7 where you can just enjoy your drink while relaxing, overlooking the city of dublin. (eh but from our seats, we only get the view of roofs. haih!) never have i felt so thrilled to have the sun glaring right into my face, but that time was the best feeling ok, since i’ve been deprived of the good ol’ warm and sunny weather for a long, long time.

we didn’t get to try any guiness cuisine at the storehouse itself cos there weren’t so much choice on the menu. so when we found this lil restaurant serving beef and guiness stew, we thought we’d give it a try.

no wonder all the tourist information mentioned this as a must stop to visit in dublin. the entry is a wee bit pricey though, 11 euros, but i think it was definitely worth it.

i don’t mind movin there!
manchester is not only the home of last season’s premier league champion (i hope i get it right, i’m really not a football fan!) but it is also the place for great MALAYSIAN food and shopping. i’m not kidding, seriously. check out all these mouthwatering food.

the trafford centre is totally heaven for shoppin i tell you. sarah and i actually spent the entire day there walking into almost all of the shops. if you didn’t get a chance to go there, don’t fret, cause the city centre itself has so many shops (including arndale centre) you don’t even know where to start! hehe. so, if you love yummilicious food and lovelovelove to shop, pick manchester as your next destination.
++ see i even got to taste my very first krispy kreme there! (so sakai!) ++
and obviously since you’re already there, why not go see for yourself the old trafford stadium?

++ you don’t have to be a fan to get one of this you know! (like me! and my bro’s so gonna kill me for getting this, i think. huhu.) ++
not far from there, for another great shopping experience, drop by the lowry outlet mall where you have really good bargains on brands like nike, marks and spencer and even cadbury ok.
it was just a short weekend trip so that’s about it. but i’m so definitely gonna go there again.

berlin, germany
going to berlin really made me wanna read up on world history. why? cos i just realize how lil i know about berlin wall and world war II. hehe. but don’t worry, i won’t bore you guys with the history here cos i know you’re not interested. :)
i guess berlin is famous for its beautiful buildings, that’s prolly why we had the study visit there. erm i don’t remember most of their names though, cos they were in german, so please forgive me.
++ err really no idea what building this is. woops! ++
++ berliner dom a.k.a. berlin cathedral (huge and pretty church!) ++
++ olympic stadium where the erm world cup 2004 (was it? sorry, i don’t remember!) was held. ++
++ one of the few buildings that survived the war. you can even see the kesan! ++
++ i lurve this! each building got its own different design. ++
those are just the few that we went to la. besides buildings, the FOOD is also superb. but if you don’t eat pork, then my advice is “don’t go there” cos you’ll have hard time lookin for food. why? cos germans LOVES pork and everywhere you go, you’ll just find pork.

preetyku was home for the weekend for her housewarmin prayers. due to her extremely limited time though, we only managed to spend the whole of saturday afternoon together. her new home is so huge and pretty i tell you! unfortunately, i didn’t get any shots of it though cos there were so many people i wouldn’t want them to think i’m a freak. but of cos, there will ALWAYS be shots of us. haha. so here’s one taken at the swing at the patio.
++ i lurve the swing so much i told my mum i wanna get one too! but then, she just ignored my request. heh. ++
nice hor preety’s punjabi suit? both lis and i were so terpegun with all those pretty punjabi suits worn by everyone that day (yea, we were the ONLY ones NOT in punjabi suit!) that we even plan to get our own! but then, after much thought, i think i’ll just hold on to the thoughts for a while cos like mad honey say, “wanna use go where? to sleep zit?” haha. so fine, i’ll just wait for preety’s weddin to get one then.

i dunno if you realize, but cafes have “tumbuh bak cendawan” (lol. haven’t use that phrase ever since pbk!) all over kuching. so, last night, me, lis and belle decided to try VOLCA CAFE. (we really think it’s short for volcano, not that they have any volcano features inside la. i mean, what else does volca means?) in case you have totally no idea where is it, this cafe is located at ban hock road. from outside, it looks like any other cafes. but once inside, you’ll be amazed by its beautiful design and ambience. we sat at this area called kampung where you had to take off your shoes and duduk bersila. you see woods everywhere and they even had that atap made out of err what ah i dunno the name la. see for yourself la.
they even had the famous pua kumbu to portray the keSARAWAKan. (i know this word don’t exist, shadap already!)
and this is the view from our kampung verandah.
so, pretty or not the place? it’s a really good place to chill and relax. and the price is quite reasonable as well!

if you’ve always dreamt of eatin at hilton
i know i know. i’ve not been updatin regularly. (unlike when i was in newcastle, i could even blog twice in a day!) i’ve just been pretty lazy erm occupied. hehe. plus, i’m really out of ideas what to blog nowadays la. i might even consider closin the whole thing? hmmm.
in case you don’t already know, hilton is having this buffet promotion thingy for three consecutive weeks, to mark its 20th anniversary. if i’m not mistaken. i’m more concern about the food, not the occassion. if you’re always broke like me (but you just can’t resist good food, or prolly ANY food even), you should really check it out. for only rm23, you get to enjoy soooooo much food. esp the desserts! however, since the price is super2 low, everyone also want to try la. (i guess everyone else also cheapskate like me lo. hehe.) so, bak kata that doorman (eh is that what you call the guy who open the door for guests at the lobby?) to maintain their high quality whatever la, they had to limit the number of people for the buffet. in other words, you gotta make reservation in advance. we almost couldn’t make it cos obviously we didn’t know about the reservation part, but we were lucky enough to get a table. so, shooh, go try it out! the buffet is held on sat from 3pm. (next week would be the last week already!)

bits of everything
22.06.08 : went to bau (kpg singai to be exact, i think) for this gawai carnival thingy cos mummy was the head judge for this bidayuh public speakin. lol. i was so impressed by the guy who won cos his bidayuh memang damn good. i mean, if it was me, for sure i’ll mix lots and lots of english and malay. but his was really good la. memang berbaloi he won. and he’s only 16! there was also a model of bidayuh longhouse there. pretty. unfortunately, i didn’t get really good shots of it, just this few before my battery went kaput.
heh. erm what else? owh ya, there was also this show (or was it a competition? am not too sure…) on the process of how they padi is transform into beras. haha. but too many people mengeremuni em, so again, i could only catch a glimpse.
23-26.06.08 : i played tour guide to syin and her family. however, since i couldn’t get leave on mon and tues, i only brought them for dinner and some photo-taking sessions. got my leave on wed, so brought them to cat museum, damai and scv.
29.06.08 : us against the sun at permai.
29.06.08 at europe but 30.06.08 for us msians : euro 2008 finals. and spain won! yay! berbaloi juak i stayed up all this while and supported them.
02.07.08 : had dinner at hijau, bdc. erm pretty lil place but they should have more choice of food. and flat screen tv. ooo and shisha! then, it can be kch’s very own hartamas square. hehe. (btw, if you get a chance to go there, DO NOT order the nasi goreng pattaya. so tipu! it’s just nasi goreng with telur goreng k. cis.)
